Sand-coated composite rebar
More and more construction companies use composite rebar in their projects. Manufacturers of composite rebar try to keep up and develop products with up-to-date materials and technologies. However, most manufacturers still concentrate on ribbed rebar whereas only a few can develop and launch a more innovative product: composite rebar with sand coating.

Advantages
Higher resistance to corrosion, alkali and acids
Sand coating enhances anti-corrosiveness and protection from aggressive environments which are typical for concrete and construction mixes even further
No itching hands any more
And no need to use extra PPE
Up to 40% higher adhesion with concrete
Small particles of sand which are distributed equally all over the rebar surface make it more rugged and thus enhance adhesion with concrete by up to 40%
Higher pullout strength

Extended life-cycle
80 years minimum. Additionally, sand coating enables protection from UV light which normally destroys the epoxy matrix over time with other types of non-protected rebar.
9 times lighter than steel, 3 times stronger than steel
Tensile strength is three times higher than A400C steel provided that the weight is up to four times smaller with an equal diameter and 9 times lighter with a ‘substitution factor’
Non-magnetic, very low heat thermal conductivity
FRP is dielectric in nature which means that it does not create Radio Magnetic Interference and does not conduct electricity. FRP has a very low thermal conductivity coefficient so constructions keep warm in winter and cold in summer
50% more cost-efficient than equally functional bigger diameter of steel rebar
Cost-efficiency is achieved by a number of factors: smaller procurement costs, faster and less voluminous logistics, loading/unloading and installation works with less machinery and less manhours
More comfortable and more rational logistics
Diameters of up to 10mm are supplied in 100m coils of upto 1.5m in diameter and weight of up to 10kg.
Custom length
Rebar is supplied in rods and coils of custom length
Expansion similar to that of concrete
Steel reinforcement gradually deforms its concrete environment due to difference in coefficients of linear expansion. FRP’s coefficient of linear expansion is similar to that of concrete so concrete and reinforcement form a unanimous environment
RP keeps its strength if bent
FRP does not lose the linear shape if rolled into coils which makes transportation and installation very comfortable
Fast, easy and comfortable to install
FRP rebar does not require too much workforce or too many tools to work with: disk grinder, pliers and scissors are enough for fast and comfortable work with a full range of diameters
